SUMMARY:A 3-Day Training Workshop at the Rutgers Center for Advanced Human Brain Imaging Research
DESCRIPTION:The Center for Advanced Human Brain Imaging Research (CAHBIR) at Rutgers University\, in partnership with the Rutgers Brain Health Institute (BHI)\, is hosting a three-day in-person training workshop on using MRI methods for human imaging.  CAHBIR at Rutgers offers cutting-edge human imaging services. This 9-hour workshop (spread over 3 days) is designed for faculty\, students and staff who are going to be involved in human MRI research. The workshop provides an introduction to MRI methods\, MRI safety\, study design and analysis. It also covers pragmatic issues related to scanning at CAHBIR. The in-person workshops are also open to people who are not affiliated with Rutgers. Seating is limited. Please register by September 15th. \nDate & Time: \n\nTuesday\, September 29\, 2026 | 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM\nWednesday\, September 30\, 2026 | 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM\nTuesday\, October 6\, 2026 | 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM\n\nLocation: \n\nSeptember 29-30: RWJMS Research Tower (RT)\, Room V10\, Busch Campus\, 675 Hoes Lane West\, Piscataway\, NJ 08854\nOctober 6: CABM Seminar Room 010\, Rutgers RWJMS/Busch Campus\, 679 Hoes Lane West\, Piscataway\, NJ 08854\n\nEach workshop day will feature new content presented by CAHBIR’s expert team. \nJoin Zoom Meeting: https://rutgers.zoom.us/j/98852513027?pwd=ymk9qTjxixiu8MfZVl7a2o7FxBBF8Z.1\nMeeting ID: 988 5251 3027\nPasscode: 12345 \nLearn  more: https://brainhealthinstitute.rutgers.edu/2026/08/07/2026-center-for-advanced-human-brain-imaging-research-3-day-workshop/

SUMMARY:Rutgers Women’s Brain Health Initiative (RWBHI) Plenary Seminar (Virtual): Jennifer S. Stevens\, PhD
DESCRIPTION:“Neuroendocrine contributors to traumatic stress: Understanding women’s risk”\nPlenary Seminar: Jennifer S. Stevens\, PhD\nCo-Director\, The Grady Trauma Project\nAssociate Professor\, Dept. of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences\nEmory University School of Medicine\nInvestigator\, Center for Visual and Neurocognitive Rehabilitation\nAtlanta VA Health Care System \nDate and Time: Tuesday\, September 29\, 2026\, 12:00 PM (EST) \nJoin Zoom Meeting: https://rutgers.zoom.us/j/94401127117?pwd=EEkh3qdxGpKIFzpefpYdstiLR3y8St.1\nMeeting ID: 944 0112 7117  | Passcode: 092926 \nDr. Stevens’ earlier work from the Grady Trauma Project identified a polymorphism in the PACAP receptor gene that contributes to risk for PTSD among women but not men. Further developments in this line of research provide one of the best-studied biological explanations for the gender disparity in PTSD diagnosis. The lab recently observed that childhood trauma predicts decreased behavioral-inhibition-related mPFC and hippocampal function in women with PTSD but does not impact function in resilient women who experienced trauma but do not have PTSD. The newest studies in the lab address 1) associations between menstrual cycle hormones and brain-based signatures of stress vulnerability in young women\, 2) longitudinal changes in neural structure and function over perimenopause\, and 3) maternal responses to infant cues in the early postpartum window. Additional seminar details will be available soon. Learn more \nLearn more about the Rutgers Women’s Brain Health Initiative \nLearn more about the BHI Plenary Seminar Series
