Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, RWJMS Core faculty member, Herbert and Jacqueline Krieger Klein Alzheimer’s Research Center, Brain Health Institute, and Institute for Health

Dr.Fonseca will discuss a potential NIH grant application focused on Down syndrome, Alzheimer’s disease and cognitive vulnerability to glucose fluctuations. Her presentation will outline proposed aims and methodological approaches to better understand how metabolic variability may influence cognitive function in this population, with the goal of identifying early markers of risk and opportunities for intervention. She welcomes feedback on refining the scientific questions and study design. Dr. Fonseca’s research focuses on early cognitive markers of dementia and brain aging in minority populations, including within-person variability, digital cognitive tools, and ecological momentary assessment, to improve early detection and advance precision aging research.
