With a background in clinical psychiatry, Dr. Lihui Tu earned his Ph.D. in Psychiatry from Peking University. He specializes in Alzheimer’s disease, focusing on large-scale data analysis and longitudinal modeling. Before joining Rutgers, he spent over a year as a postdoctoral researcher at RIKEN in Japan. His current research examines cognitive aging within Native American populations.

Dr. Tu will discuss his specific aims and intended methodology for a potential grant application examining intraindividual sleep–activity dynamics as wearable-derived markers of neurocognitive risk. He is interested in feedback and suggestions to refine the characterization of temporal features and sleep–activity phenotypes, and to identify the most appropriate approaches for relating these measures to cognitive performance, cognitive change, and incident MCI/ADRD. Dr. Tu’s research focuses on cognitive aging and ADRD, with particular interests in digital phenotyping, longitudinal data, and scalable markers of early neurocognitive vulnerability.
